On June 15, 2018 a license agreement was signed between Koppert Cress and the Botero-González family in Medellín, Colombia. According to this agreement, the family will produce various types of Cress (micro greens) and ‘Specialties’. All these products will be offered under the brand Koppert Cress, assuring that they will be produced in accordance with the strict standards of Koppert Cress in relation to food safety (HACCP).

The family company, called Pomario, already has been growing edible flowers, cut Cress, and (baby) vegetables. Koppert Cress was looking for a solution to make its products available to customers in Colombia. They decided it was necessary to establish a cooperation on the production and delivery of various products within the Koppert Cress assortment. For the Botero-González family it is their mission to produce organically in order to reduce the negative agricultural impact on the environment, and to create a more healthy society.
