During the Dutch Trade mission to Japan, Minister Kamp official opened the Japanese facilities of Koppert Cress. The new production greenhouse is a cooperation between Koppert Cress and their Japanese partner Murakami Farm.

The Dutch Trade mission to Japan started on Monday November 15. Prime minister Rutte is visiting Japan on November 9 -10. Minister Kamp of Economic Affairs, who will stay in Japan until November 11, accompanies him. 120 Dutch companies participate in the mission, which contains the largest horticultural mission to Japan ever.

Japan is the world’s third economy and the largest Asian investor in the Netherlands. The mutual trade between `Holland and Japan amounted to 11,5 billion euro in 2014. The Dutch and Japanese horticulture have a special bond. After the 2011 tsunami, many Dutch companies have been involved in the resurrection of the horticulture in the region. Following these contacts, a flow of Japanese representatives visits the Netherlands.

Last year the prime minister even visited an Dutch pepper nursery an in October 2014 a large trade mission visited Japan.

 

Koppert Cress Japan
On Monday afternoon Minister Kamp and a horticultural delegation of 30 companies, visited a vegetable greenhouse of Agri Mind in Yamanashi prefecture. Later he opened the adjacent new production facility of Dutch Koppert Cress and the Japanese partner Murakami Farm.
