Ranking the Grower 2026 - Koppert Cress is Most Sustainable Vegetable Grower, Most Sustainable Vegetable Grower

The prestigious Ranking the Grower Awards were presented on February 26, 2026, during the HortiContact trade fair in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. Koppert Cress received the top prize in the Vegetables category, earning the title of most sustainable vegetable grower of 2026.

The award recognizes Koppert Cress's consistent commitment to sustainability, innovation, and economic performance. Sustainable entrepeneurship is flowing through the veins at Koppert Cress: from cultivation methods and energy use to collaboration with colleagues, start-ups, and partners within the sector. With this recognition, Koppert Cress and Division Q once again underline their ambition to be leaders in sustainable horticulture and sector-wide collaboration.

“A pioneer in sustainable greenhouse horticulture. They use only LED lighting and have a closed water cycle with their own purification system. Crop protection is almost entirely organic, and innovative technologies are given every opportunity to flourish. In fact, start-ups are actively helped to get off the ground. And recently, thanks to geothermal energy, heat and cold storage, and heat pumps, the company has become completely fossil-free.”

The award was received during the ceremony in the presence of Stijn Baan (Koppert Cress) and Bart van Meurs (Division Q), among others. The recognition is above all a crowning achievement for the daily work of all employees who are committed to quality, innovation, and future-proof entrepreneurship.

In addition to Koppert Cress, LG Flowers (Flowers category) and Ter Laak Orchios (Plants category) were also honored. All 22 nominated companies are praised as inspiring representatives of the Dutch horticultural sector.

Now that the winners have been announced, the public has the opportunity to vote for the overall winner. Which of the three will be the winner of Ranking the Grower 2026: LG Flowers, Koppert Cress, or Ter Laak Orchios? Anyone can vote online.
