The first GreenCanteen in the Netherlands!

We are proud that Koppert Cress has become the first organisation in the Netherlands to receive the GreenCanteen certification. The certification takes a holistic look at company catering across eight areas of sustainability, from meal planning and food waste to energy and social responsibility.

The results show what is possible when sustainability becomes part of everyday operations:

• 96% of the meals assessed are vegetarian or vegan
• 51% reduction in food waste compared to the baseline - equivalent to more than 4,000 kg of food saved
• 87% of the criteria achieved in Employees & Society
• 80% in Technology & Energy
• 78% in Meal Planning & Offer

For us, sustainability goes beyond what we grow. We also want to keep improving the way we work, eat and use resources within our own organisation.

Following a canteen in Luxembourg, Koppert Cress is the next organisation outside Germany to receive the GreenCanteen certification. This made the process extra special, as together with GreenCanteen we exchanged knowledge and explored how the certification could be applied within the Dutch context.
