Koppert Cress is excited to announce its collaboration with Rafel Genever. This collaboration marks an exciting new direction in culinary combinations, combining the unique, 100% natural cresses and specialties of Koppert Cress with the refined flavors of Rafel Genever.

BLACK GENEVER

Rafel genever, known for its innovative approach to distilling, recently introduced two new genevers: a bright, floral gin and a unique black gin with a salty taste. The Rafel Coastal genever in particular, with its delicate, salty notes, is an excellent match for the gourmet creations made possible by Koppert Cress. This genever is a perfect complement to dishes with fish, oysters and samphire, but can also create surprising combinations with roasted watermelon or Peking duck, for example.

The collaboration aims to take the gastronomic experience to the next level by introducing genever as a complementary drink in a gourmet package. With the addition of the Oyster Leaves in Rafel genever, we underscore our commitment to innovation and the synergy between premium dishes and outstanding beverages. The culinary world has long relied on wine and beer pairings; we are proud to now introduce genever as an equal partner in this sophisticated dance of flavors.

THE RISE OF GENEVER

This collaboration coincides with the resurgence of aged genever as a culinary trend. Rafel Genever, as a craft product and a tribute to the rich Dutch distilling tradition, is perfectly positioned to meet this demand. Together with Koppert Cress, we are setting a new standard for what is possible in the world of foodpairing.

It is no coincidence that Koppert Cress chose old genever. This typically Dutch product is making a big comeback. Since 2022, more and more exclusive genever is being produced, drunk and sold as a kopstoot and in cocktails. The alternative to a gin-tonic, for example, is the Jen-tonic, in which genever as “the Godmother of Gin” gives a fat, tasty nod to her godson.
