Koppert Cress is a company that has managed to make a niche market grow into a full size part of the Dutch fruit and vegetable industry. A success that is founded on the innovative, but even more the consistent and hard work of Rob Baan and his co-workers. Obviously, there are people who want to have part in this success. Competition is a sound mechanisme and keeps everybody on edge. However, there are some players who do not want to play the game according to the rules.
Since a major part of the success of the company is due to the relationship it has with the end users of the product, the company makes it a key issue to not betray this confidence. Koppert Cress has found out that one of its distributors, Cresco, is supplying Koppert Cress packages filled with products they have produced themselves. (see photo above).
It has also been noticed that users who order Koppert Cress products are supplied with other products, e.g. under the name ‘a Tasty Challenge’, without any notification why they do not get what they ordered. The company has received messages of doubtful quality.
Customers who order Koppert Cress products, are supplied with Koppert Cress packaging, but the content does not originate from Koppert Cress. This kind of shady practices one does not expect in The Netherlands. It is for this reason that Koppert Cress has decided to no longer do business with Cresco. In spite of years of good cooperation, there is now sufficient evidence, which justifies the decision to end the relationship, in the interest of the trade in general and the end users in specific.
Koppert Cress trusts that customers will understand the decision and keep supporting the company in its endeavour to supply optimal quality to the end user.
